As a Staff Engineer, Distributed Systems, you will play a key role in building Galadriel’s scalable L1 network for AI agents.
You will lead architecture, security, performance optimization, and developer experience improvements across both our agent framework and the underlying network.
This is a high-impact role for a generalist engineer who can lead deployment of distributed systems at scale, is excited about the intersection of AI and Web3, and thrives in the high-pace environments of an early-stage startup.
What will be your impact?
- System design: You will design highly-performant, scalable and secure network for AI agents.
- Infrastructure: You will deploy critical network services and operate them, balancing various metrics like reliability, latency and cost
- Developer experience: You will ensure the features are not unnecessarily complex, they are well-documented, and intuitive. Developers will find Galadriel easy to understand and build on, with minimal unexpected issues.
- Testing and security: You will advance our testing and security infrastructure, enabling rapid and reliable deployment of new versions.
- Performance optimization: You will conduct performance experiments and optimizations, providing concrete metrics and pushing the boundaries of what Galadriel network can achieve.
- Collaboration and mentorship: You will mentor other engineers and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience in distributed systems architecture and building scalable backends from the ground up
- Experience building products from an idea to a product-market-fit in early-stage startup environment
- Proficiency in languages like Python, Go or Java
- Deep understanding of concurrency, distributed services
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to mentor engineers
- Experience in one or both of the following
- AI/LLMs: applying LLMs to business problems and building AI agents
- Web3: L1/L2 blockchain development and smart contracts (e.g. DeFi)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
